Dominic Perri

Founder and Principal Consultant

Dominic J. Perri is Founder and Principal Consultant of the Essential Conversations Group, a management consulting firm based in Chicago.  In this role, he provides facilitation, leadership development, training and consultation to organizations throughout the United States and Canada.  Dominic has led strategic planning and re-structuring processes for corporations, universities, government agencies and nonprofits.


Dominic is also a dynamic presenter who has created and delivered leadership training programs across the U.S.  Among the topics he addresses are managing people of different generations in the workplace, using social media to improve performance and increasing collaboration and teamwork.

A sample of recent projects includes:

  • Developed and led change management processes for Randstad Corporation, DePaul University, Spherion Corporation and Muscular Dystrophy Association. 

  • Designed and delivered leadership training programs for CareerBuilder, McKesson Specialty Health, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Loyola University-Chicago and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

  • Provided executive coaching to clients at CareerBuilder, Brandtrust, Consulate Healthcare and leaders in the non-profit sector.

Additional clients include United Way, Dot Foods and University of Kentucky.

Dominic recently co-authored a national study of strategic planning practices among non-profits, published in the journal Strategy and Leadership.  He has presented at numerous national conferences and spoke across the U.S. on topics including building high-performing teams and managing people of different generations.

Dominic is certified in Center for Creative Leadership 360 Suite, Covey 7 Habits and Leading Generations, and Human Synergistics Organizational Culture Inventory. He is in the process of earning the Certified Change Management Professional™ from the Association of Change Management Professionals.  He also has extensive experience in developing and analyzing surveys and focus groups working at research centers at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University.   

Dominic is a certified executive coach whose clients include university presidents, corporate CEOs and national religious leaders.  He has served as adjunct faculty at DePaul University and has been a member of the board of directors of the Organization Development Network of Chicago.  He holds a B.S. in Physics from The Catholic University of America as well as an M.A. in both Sociology and Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. 

In addition to his professional work, Dominic enjoys cooking, Renaissance Italian art, and European soccer.  He lives with his wife Patricia and their two daughters in Elmhurst, IL

Charles M. DeNault

Senior Consultant

Charles covers the corporate learning best practices and solutions and has published in several L&D periodicals and spoken at leading industry events, such as the CLO Symposium, Workforce Live, and HR Tech Europe on a variety of topics including learner engagement, employee coaching, social learning, and program assessment. Earlier in his career, Charles defined and launched solutions for learning, talent management, and collaboration at SuccessFactors, Saba, WebEx, and Apple. Charles has a BS in Mathematics and Computational Sciences and an MS in Operations Research from Stanford University.
